Volunteers Clean Up Lovell Canyon

On June 20, 2009, twelve volunteers including 1 local community member, 1 target shooter, 5 UNLV Circle K Club Members, and 5 UNLV sorority members were joined by 10 interagency Law Enforcement personnel at Lovell Canyon in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area to make a difference on our public lands. The group met at 8:30 a.m. and removed 20 cubic yards of shooting debris including; televisions, stuffed animals, road signs, furniture, and other household belongings. One volunteer collected six 33 gallon trash bags of recyclable plastic.

If your group is interested in working on a clean-up project, please call Daniel Chase at 895-5149 to learn more about volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering please check the following web site www.getoutdoorsnevada.org for upcoming events and other opportunities.
