National Public Lands Day 2019

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Red Springs (Calico Basin) & Campground

Join the Bureau of Land Management, Friends of Red Rock Canyon and Southern Nevada Conservancy and assist with fence sealing and trash cleanup. The work will involve hiking, standing for long periods, bending, lifting, reaching and carrying heavy or awkward objects up to 50 pounds. Please plan ahead and dress appropriately for the weather conditions and work to be completed. We recommend a long sleeve shirt, long pants and boots or tennis shoes–please no open toe shoes. Spend the weekend celebrating the 26th annual National Public Lands Day with us at Big Rocks Wilderness!  Roll up your sleeves to help install barriers that will prevent illegal motorized incursions into the Wilderness.  This is critical to protecting the area for hikers and hunters.  Big Rocks Wilderness overlaps with the North Pahroc mountain range and contains mountains, canyons, and – you guessed it – large, jumbled boulders!
